Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 10, 2026

1. Introduction

Express Share ("we," "our," or "us") provides a web-based sharing service that helps users share text, links, and files between devices. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use Express Share, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Process

When you use Express Share, we may process the following categories of information:

2.1 Information You Choose to Share

We may process the content you choose to share through the service, including:

  • text you enter
  • URLs you submit
  • file names
  • file types
  • file sizes
  • preview data
  • file contents, when needed to provide sharing or fallback delivery

2.2 Connection and Network Information

To help devices discover one another and establish sharing sessions, we may process technical connection information such as:

  • IP-based network context
  • temporary peer or session identifiers
  • connection coordination messages used to establish sharing sessions
  • timestamps and request metadata

2.3 Device and Browser Information

We may process limited technical information from your browser or device as needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, such as:

  • browser type
  • operating system
  • request headers
  • error and diagnostic information

2.4 Advertising Information

Express Share may display ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may collect or receive information from your browser or device, including:

  • cookies or similar technologies
  • IP address
  • browser or device identifiers
  • approximate location information
  • ad interaction information

The collection and use of advertising-related data are also governed by Google's own policies and applicable law.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described in this Privacy Policy to:

  • provide sharing functionality
  • establish and manage device connections
  • display transfer status, file listings, previews, and expiration windows
  • support temporary fallback delivery where direct delivery is unavailable
  • maintain service security and reliability
  • troubleshoot technical issues
  • display and measure ads when advertising is enabled

4. How Express Share Works

Express Share is designed to transfer shared content directly between devices when possible. To support that functionality, we use network coordination services to help devices connect.

In some cases, shared metadata and limited shared content may be temporarily processed or stored in server memory to support listing, temporary availability, or fallback delivery. Express Share does not provide permanent user accounts or long-term cloud storage for shared items.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Express Share is designed around temporary sharing.

  • Shared metadata and, in some cases, shared content may be temporarily stored in memory for a short period to support the service.
  • Shared items are intended to expire automatically after a limited window, typically around 30 minutes, and may be deleted sooner.
  • Operational, security, or diagnostic logs may be generated by the application, hosting provider, proxy, or related infrastructure and may be retained for a limited period based on operational needs.

6. Third-Party Services and External Requests

To operate the service, your browser or device may communicate with third-party or external infrastructure, including:

  • hosting or proxy providers used to serve Express Share
  • networking services used to establish device-to-device connections
  • font or asset delivery services used by the interface
  • Google AdSense and related ad technology providers when ads are enabled

These providers may receive technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, referrer information, and request metadata as part of normal web operation.

7. Advertising

Express Share may display advertisements served by Google AdSense.

When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • serve ads
  • personalize ads
  • limit ad frequency
  • detect fraud
  • measure ad performance

Depending on your region, you may be shown consent choices before personalized advertising is enabled. You can also manage certain advertising preferences through your browser settings and Google's ad settings.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Express Share does not currently rely on user accounts or first-party analytics cookies to provide its core sharing features. However, third-party providers, including advertising and infrastructure providers, may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for service delivery, security, fraud prevention, advertising, or measurement.

9. Data Disclosure

We may disclose information only as necessary to:

  • operate the service
  • support hosting, networking, proxy, and delivery infrastructure
  • provide advertising services when enabled
  • protect the service, our users, or the public
  • comply with legal obligations

We do not market your uploaded files or shared content as a product.

10. Security

Direct device-to-device transfers are designed to use encrypted WebRTC connections where available. Communications with servers and supporting services depend on deployment and browser configuration. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so you should use trusted networks and share sensitive information with care.

11. Children's Privacy

Express Share is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe information relating to a child has been processed through the service in a way that should be addressed, please contact us.

12. Your Choices

You control what you share and when you share it. You may stop using the service at any time and close sharing sessions when you choose.

You may also manage:

  • browser permissions
  • cookie settings
  • ad preferences
  • consent choices, where available

13. International Processing

Depending on your location and the providers used to operate Express Share, information may be processed in countries other than your own as part of normal web, hosting, networking, and advertising operations.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Express Share after an update means the revised policy will apply going forward.

Plain-language note:

This policy is written to reflect how Express Share actually works without exposing internal implementation details such as endpoint names, peer ID formats, or transport internals. It still discloses the material things users should know: temporary processing, connection coordination, third-party infrastructure, and advertising.
